Description Summary:
The Research Program Coordinator at the Berman Institute of Bioethics will be responsible for performing a wide variety of tasks involved in the development, implementation, and evaluation of a data-driven project revolving around the management of incidental findings in pragmatic clinical trials (PCTs). The Research Program Coordinator will work closely with the Principal Investigator and will participate in all phases of the project.
Responsibilities :
   » Assist with day to day operations
   » Coordinate project related meetings
   » Assist in data collection and entry
   » Manage study databases
   » Organize conference calls
   » Conduct computerized literature searches
   » Prepare materials for reports and manuscripts
   » Conceptualize and conduct the analysis of  data
   » Facilitate communications internally among members of the project team (including faculty investigators and other research staff) and externally with the additional team members and experts providing input during key phases of the project
   » Track project related work
Appropriate qualifications:
   » Bachelor's degree in related discipline required with some practice required.  
   » Additional education may substitute for required practice and additional related practice may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of practice; up to two years of non-related college course work may be applied towards the total minimum education/practice required for the respective job.
Preferred Appropriate qualifications:
   » Three years practice preferred.
   » Preferred qualifications include data analysis expertise and qualitative analysis methods.
Special expertise, expertise, and Abilities:
   » Must have excellent written, communication, and interpersonal expertise
   » Must be detail-oriented and organized
   » Must possess the capability to handle multiple tasks and complete work independently
   » Library and online research expertise
   » Computer expertise, including familiarity with word processing, data entry programs, and qualitative analysis software programs (e.g. NVivo)

During the Influenza ("the flu") season, as a condition of employment, The Johns Hopkins Institutions require all employees who provide continuing services to patients or work in patient care or clinical care areas to have an annual influenza vaccination or possess an approved medical or religious exception. Failure to meet this requirement may result in termination of employment.
The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination. This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.
