Posting Summary: The University of Virginia, Procurement and Supplier Diversity Services, seeks an Accounts Payable and Payment Specialist who is looking to be a valued member of the UVA Finance Team and strives to build institutions trust.

The Accounts Payable and Payment Specialist will perform a variety of routine and non-routine financial functions of a moderately complex nature. They may work in one specific area of finance or support a range of different disciplines, including accounting, budget, payroll, financial aid, financial analysis, purchasing, grants administration, or treasury. The Accounts Payable and Payment Specialist will be responsible for data entry and reporting within the University's various financial systems, and demonstrate broad expertise of processing financial transactions through various Information technology platforms. In addition the Accounts Payable and Payment Specialist will resolve complicated transactional issues, prepare summaries, reports, charts, and graphs as requested, and perform all tasks of Fiscal Technicians, but are distinguished by a depth and breadth of practice

A bachelor's degree is required, though 8 years of significant practice may be considered in lieu of a degree. 5 years of prosperous practice in a position requiring accuracy and attention to detail, preferably in accounting, is required, though 7 years of the same practice is preferred. Attention to detail, accurate keyboard expertise, good phone etiquette, customer service focus, capability to take initiative in resolving problems, are all required. The prosperous applicant has the capability to work independently, in teams, and meet deadlines. capability to interpret and apply State and Federal Laws is also required. expertise of general PC and Microsoft Software packages is required.
