Position Description:
ERM is seeking a detailed, self-starting AutoCAD/Civil Designer to join our consulting firm in Annapolis, Maryland. You will provide high-quality AutoCAD capcapability for drafting as well as civil design work as a part of a design team of engineers and scientists. The projects will focus on waste management, linear and utility construction, site remediation, earthwork/site-civil and related engineering in support of the overall environmental focus of the firm. This is an opportunity to lead and build a multi-individual capcapability in this local office, with support and leadership abilities from corporate resources. An interest in the environmental field, an introductory expertise of GIS, and potential interest in field support activities during design and construction would all be a plus.

Job responsibilities:

Provide high-quality technical support for drafting, graphics, data visualization, ArcMap and AutoCAD needs on projects and proposals, while prosperously managing multiple deadline-driven tasks.
Prepare site plans and grading plans using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
Prepare construction-ready design drawings, including plans, sections, profiles and details, as well as groundwater elevation and contaminant concentration contour maps, geological cross-sections, and conceptual site model depictions.
Prepare earthwork-grading plans, cut/fill cross-sections, process flow diagrams, piping and-10instrumentation diagrams, and civil/mechanical design details.
Work within quality/budget/schedule expectations and scope-specific assignments.
Complete work assignments in conformity with ERM's management system, format and quality standards.


Associates or significant BA/BS degree, or equivalent technical trade school certification, and 5 to 10 years of significant practice with AutoCAD (preferably in the civil, environmental or remediation consulting industry).
practice preparing/delivering work described above and using significant software.
capability to work independently and as part of a team.
Effective written/verbal communication and organization/analytical expertise; proven problem solving abilities.
capability to succeed in a consulting pace, handling multiple project assignments with different staff on projects all over the world and with multiple geographic locations, and maintaining flexibility while meeting strict deadlines.
GIS expertise a plus.
