Organization Summary:

Oasis for Youth serves youth in south suburban Hennepin County, ages 16 to 24, who are experiencing homelessness or housing instcapability.   Oasis for Youth is a community-located organization located in Bloomington, with a focus on keeping youth connected to positive community supports as they work toward stcapability.  Our case managers work with youth on their housing, employment, educational and health/wellness goals.  Basic needs assistance is available each weekday during drop-in hours.  Case management is offered at the Drop-In Center, at each of the high schools in our primary service area of Bloomington, Richfield, and Edina, the Mall of America, and through street located outreach.

Primary tasks:

POSITION SUMMARY
The Operations and Finance agent is responsible to assist with everything from everyday finances to superviseing grant and contract compliance for Oasis for Youth.
This position manages the grants calendar and conducts grants research, supporting the Executive Director in grant proposals.
This position will also play a key function in the financial oversight of the agency. Ensuring that all earnings and expenses are tracked appropriately and executed with excellence.  The agent function will also work closely with the Executive Director to ensure Human Resources operations are being executed.
The agent reports to the executive director and works with, key volunteer leaders, and members of the development, finance and marketing committees. This position provides leadership abilities and critical analytics to the board of directors, finance, development, and event committees.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
Management
Attends board meetings and serves as lead in working with the finance committee with significant involvement in the development and marketing committees.
Assists Executive Director in ensuring the agency is compliant with all funder, contract and human resource standards.
Ensure Oasis for Youth’s guiding principles and values are reflected in all areas of work.
Comprehensive Development Planning
Support the Executive Director in the management of major gift portfolio, involving development committee and other volunteers as appropriate.
Support the development and implementation of giving campaigns to increase acquisition of new donors and retain and upgrade current supporters.
Manage grants/contracts and reporting. Conduct grants research. Support Executive Director in writing grants. Including, assisting with scheduling and attending site visits, for government contracts and foundations.
supervise the budget and provide direction for Oasis’ annual Building Futures fundraising event and other fundraising events; assist in securing major corporate sponsorship partners.
Assist with the production and ordering of all Oasis marketing materials (brochures, annual report, etc.)
As needed, represent Oasis at churches, civic organizations, businesses and other speaking opportunities.
Assist with the development of significant website content as well as site structural revisions and new additions.
Assist with the creation/editing of written materials.
Financial Systems
Appropriately acexpertise donors and deliver communication all over the year to assure donor stewardship is integrated into the culture of Oasis.
Participate in finance committee tasks like, developing annual budget, preparing annual audit, appropriate coding, and ensure finance procedures are being met.
Process all gifts utilizing Little Green Light CRM database per financial procedures.  Work with finance committee to improve procedures, as appropriate. Provide fundraising progress reports to the ED, development committee and board on a regular basis. Ensure all donor and prospect interactions and activities are correctly documented in Little Green Light.
Assist with monthly and yearly budgets, ensure invoices are issued and the agency is on track with spending and accounts receivable.
Work with the finance committee and Executive Director to develop the annual agency budget, prepare for the annual audit, and ensure timely completion of financial statements, 990, and MN Charitable Organization annual filing.
Design program/grant specific budgets for expense tracking and internal reporting.
Perform general ledger accounting tasks such as recording journal entries and maintaining chart of accounts.
Create accounts receivable invoices, and track accounts receivable.
Process accounts payable, maintain vendor records and contracts, issue 1099s.
Review and approve all employee purchases, ensure appropriate coding and documentation is provided.
Manage cash accounts and maintain a reliable cash flow projection process.
Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll and benefits. 

practice:

A minimum of 3-5 years of grant and contract management, general non-profit management and accounting practice.
Proven track record of executing fundraising strategies to increase revenue.
Strong communication and interpersonal expertise including presentation and written communication, networking, making a financial ask, working with and engaging the board of directors and volunteers.
 

Competency with Quickbooks, donor databases, Microsoft Word, Powerpoint and Excel, email, and social media. Website management a plus.
 

High level of personal integrity and capability to maintain confidentiality.
