As part of NYC Health + Hospitals, the Office of Population Health (OPH) has a broad portfolio encompassing ambulatory care transformation, development of innovative care models, chronic disease avoidance and management, research and evaluation, population health analytics, and social determinants of health. HIV Services within the Office of Population Health has five primary areas of responsibility including: strategic planning of HIV treatment and avoidance efforts, quality improvement, grants coordination, community collaborations and collaboration on DSRIP HIV related projects.
We are pursuing an HIV Data Analyst who will report to the Senior Director of HIV Services and will have the following tasks and Job responsibilities: •Perform analysis and reporting of varied healthcare data systems and support the assessment of impact and results to improve clinical care and meet reporting obligations •Integrate, synthesize, validate, and analyze data from clinical and financial systems •Provide real-time data support and coordination assistance to clinical services with the objective of streamlining the collection and submission of data •Support the identification, analysis and interpretation of trends or patterns in datasets including tracking and data reporting of quality improvement projects •Support the translation of strategic and operational problems into analyses to inform data-driven decisions •Support program analysis that culminates in publishing opportunities •Assists with the identification, collection, input and assembly of documents and regular and special reports as required for external and internal reviews •Supports electronic health record HIV data management efforts •Assists with special projects as assigned

Appropriate qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications

1. A Masters degree or advanced clinical degree from an accredited college or university; or 2. A Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of practice gathering and documenting business, clinical, and/or functional requirements for software applications development and implementation in a clinical, allied health, non-allied health, behavioral health, information technology, information services, business, analytics or related area; or, one (1) year of practice in a significant clinical and/or healthcare administration function/function; or 3. A satisfactory combination of education, training, and practice. 4. Specialty certification(s) issued by a national commercially available program, state, professional society, academic or technical institution in an area(s) listed above, may be credited on a month-to-month basis toward the required work practice for a total of one (1) year.

Department Preferences

•broad practice using SQL for data management, reporting, and advanced analysis •Comfort managing a schedule of regular reports and proven capability to meet deliverables on time •Demonstrated agility with common reporting and analytic software such as Excel, Tableau, Stata, SAS, or R •Strong analytic background with practice with data extraction, ad-hoc reporting, manipulation of raw data, creation and updating of reports •3-5 years of practice in the healthcare industry related to data analysis •Enthusiasm for breaking down and knowledge complex systems •Passion for supporting healthcare improvements for a diverse patient population in a culturally appropriate and significant manner •Exceptional analytical, interpersonal, organizational, and quantitative problem- solving expertise •Knowledge of, and interest in, social determinants of health and the complexity of quantifying their impact on clinical results •capability to work seamlessly as a member of a team and work independently •Familiarity with New York State HIV quality data reporting •Bilingual language fluency is valuable
