Stoneleigh-Burnham School in Greenfield, MA seeks an Interim Director of Finance and Operations, effective October 29, 2018. The position will be of 5-7 months in duration as the School undertakes a search for a permanent CFO/COO.
Position:
The Interim Director of Finance and Operations will be a collaborative and systems building leader. She/he will supervise and support the following areas: business office, dining services, buildings and grounds, housekeeping, school store, security, and reception.
Job responsibilities:
   » supervises all operations of the Business Office
   » Refines FY20 and supervises FY19 school budget in collaboration with department heads and the Head of School
   » Monitors the School's cash flow, investments, payables, receivables and payroll functions
   » Manages financial reporting to the Board
   » supervises third party agreements
   » supervises bids and renewals for licapability, vehicle, medical, livestock, utilities and building insurance
   » Assures compliance with federal and state legislation, with IRS, audit, and labor law requirements
   » Collaborates with Director of Admissions and Financial Aid and Head of School on financial aid awards
   » Facilitates work with architects, contractors and appropriate building committee for capital projects
   » supervises operations of the following departments (each of which has its own manager or director):
   » Business Office
   » School Store
   » Dining Services
   » Housekeeping
   » Security
   » Reception
   » Buildings and Grounds
   » Participates in the review of personnel policies and procedures for staff; including the Employment Guidelines Manual, benefits management, income scales and hiring procedures
   » Works with the Board of Trustees’ Audit; Finance and Investment; and Facilities Planning Committees
   » Sits on the Administrative Team
   » Reports to the Head of School

Appropriate qualifications:

   » Minimum of a B.A., ideally with an MBA/CPA or related degree
   » At least 7-10 years of overall professional practice; ideally 6+ years of broad financial and operations management practice
   » practiced in ensuring the quality and content of all financial data, reporting and audit coordination
   » capability to effectively collaborate with colleagues
   » Proficiency with Blackbaud software
   » capability to set priorities with a keen analytical, organizational, and problem solving mindset
   » Excellent communication expertise
   » A multi-tasker with the capability to work in a fast-paced environment
