Posting Summary: Reporting to the Vice President for Advancement and working closely with the Senior Vice President for Advancement and the Vice Provost for Global Affairs, the Senior Director for Development for Global Affairs will identify, solidify and leverage the naturally occurring intersections known and yet to be identified--between global affairs programming, advocacy and philanthropy, with the primary goal of maximizing philanthropy in support of strategic priorities identified by the Vice Provost.

The prosperous candidate will have proven practice in the following functional areas: For a complete list please reference the position posting.

Serve as a principal and major gifts agent dedicated exclusively to fundraising in support of strategic priorities identified by the Vice President for Global Affairs and endorsed by the Provost and the President; carry a portfolio of identified and vetted prospects and travel as required to cultivate and solicit those prospects.

Serve as liaison between the Vice Provost for Global Affairs and the Vice President for Advancement and the primary point of contact for bringing significant philanthropic opportunities to the attention of the President (where appropriate).

Provide executive-level support to the Vice Provost, including providing research, briefings, proposals, talking points, and other materials needed to cultivate prospects and solicit and secure major and principal gifts from individuals, corporations and foundations.

Develop a comprehensive plan--- one that includes identified funding sources including but not limited to private philanthropy; for insuring that every University undergraduate student has the opportunity to pursue an international practice of substance; the creation of this plan will, of necessity, require the compilation of a thorough inventory of available opportunities available Grounds-wide, the identification of programming gaps, and the identification of synergies that might be leveraged across schools, units, programs, and centers.

Lead the creation of a Global Affairs Advisory Board; serve as the staff liaison to said Board; facilitate and support communication between the Board and University leaders in global programming.

Serve as the University's point of contact for inquiries related to fundraising and global affairs (i.e., annual reports on gifts from non-US entities; reports on giving by non-resident aliens and to globally-focused initiatives, etc.)

This is a 3 year contract, restricted position and continuation is located on availcapability of funds.
