The Administrative adjunct works with the Department Chair in supervising the administrative functions of department offices. The goals of the department to be met by the Administrative adjunct include the planning and the implementation of the follow program areas:
   » The Administrative adjunct acts as liaison with the Dean's Office, the Business Office, and the Office Sponsored Funds, and has delegated responsibility for first-instance preparation of the departmental request for the operating and equipment budgets and for the accounting connected with the maintenance of the budget, including requisitions, fiscal reports, and statements of individual allocations within the department
   » The Administrative adjunct acts as liaison with the SUNY-Foundation Office; monitors the activity in the non-state accounts; and prepares vouchers, deposits, and fiscal reports
   » The Administrative adjunct functions as liaison with the Dean's Office and the Office of the Registrar; prepares proposed class schedules in the Banner system; supervises course guide information; supervises the registration of all independent study and practicum in college teaching courses; works closely with Director of Instructional Labs to provide updated class lists
   » The Administrative adjunct acts as liaison with the Personnel Office, Affirmative ActionOffice, Institutional Research Office, Foreign Student Advising Office, and the Dean of Arts and Sciences; carries out recruitment and supervision of departmental office staff, and administrative support staff; maintains faculty and professional staff leave records; and assists with faculty recruiting and the preparation of Immigration Documentation
   » The Administrative adjunct represents the department chair at University meetings on request, acts as liaison between the faculty and University offices as needed, and assists with special projects as needed
   » The Administrative adjunct is responsible for coordination all of the activities necessary to assist new faculty members in establishing their research laboratories
   » The Administrative adjunct acts as liaison with the Graduate School; works closely with the Graduate Program on graduate student appointments, terminations, and changes; coordinates the Visiting Speakers Program outreach; prepares requests and authorizations to travel
   » The Administrative adjunct coordinates advertisements; travel reimbursements, affirmative actionprocedures; assists new faculty with purchasing and preparation of laboratory facilities
   » Responsible for all Business Intelligence applications including purchasing, travel, graduate appointments and all HR appointments

Job Requirements:
   » Bachelor's degree
   » practice with budgeting, purchasing, and travel reimbursement
   » Must work very well in a diverse setting with faculty, staff, and students in higher education on a everyday basis
Preferred:
   » Master's degree
   » Some management practice as well as practice with course building and management of registration issues
   » Significantly high levels of organization expertise, project planning, and detail orientation
