The Laboratory Coordinator I, under general supervision, supplies, maintains, and organizes laboratory equipment. Prepares materials and trains teaching adjuncts.

Job responsibilities:
Serve both research and academic entities. Assisting in maintaining compliance with chemical safety to include performing routine checks for eyewash and shower equipment; will maintain and keep up-to-date SDSPro chemical data base, ensure yearly fume hoods/BSC certifications are maintained, perform preliminary lab inspections, coordinate chemical waste pick up; ensure autoclave maintenance and certificate,; ensure update of chemical safety plan.
Will ensure research supplies and needed equipment are ordered; ensures all students in lab courses have signed lab safety agreement sheets; ensures student researchers have had lab specific training for CAHS, equips students with instrument, disposable supplies, and chemicals; organizes laboratory supplies in teaching labs and stock rooms; will maintain files with inventory of equipment, instruments, and chemicals; will dispose laboratory waste according to safety regulations; re-stocks supplies, places and receives order and files documentation of received supplies.
Will assist in instructing student on the use of instruments, will supervise student workers in the laboratory and manage their schedules, tasks, and tasks; maintain updated training's and certifications in laboratory safety procedures and ensures the teaching and creation of laboratory matters; ensures that procedures are carried out appropriately and issues are addressed and adheres to Federal, State, and Texas A&M University System (TAMUS) procedures, policies, and safety regulations, maintains quality assurance manuals, revisit Standard Operating Procedure (SOPs)_, validation of laboratory procedures, check sample programs, and record control, prepares and operates instructional, simulation, and experimental laboratory classes and assists faculty in the instruction of planned laboratories and experiments.
Lead efforts in providing farm and research laboratory tours.
Will gather and prepare research volunteer paperwork.

Education and practice:
   » Bachelor?s degree in an applicable field.
   » One year of related practice

Knowledge, expertise and Abilities:
   » Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation applications. capability to identify, assess, and solve problems. capability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
   » capability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. capability to communicate clearly and effectively to ensure knowledge.

Other Requirements:
   » capability to lift light objects. Work beyond normal office hours and/or work on weekends.
