Summary of tasks:
This is a full-time tenure track adjunct Professor position in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry to begin in Autumn 2019. At appointment, the prosperous candidate must have a Ph.D. in chemistry, biochemistry, or a related discipline. A strong commitment to teaching and research is required; postdoctoral teaching practice is preferred. Teaching and service will occur primarily at The Ohio State University at Marion, located 45 miles north of the central campus in Columbus and one of six campuses of The Ohio State University. Tenure track faculty on the Marion campus hold appointments in their academic departments, are encouraged to collaborate with Columbus campus faculty, and have access to significant labs, libraries, and resources in Columbus. We seek candidates with diverse teaching skills qualified to teach courses in general chemistry and biochemistry. Responsibilities include teaching, laboratory supervision, research and publication, service to the campus, university, and discipline, and mentoring undergraduate students.

Candidates should submit (1) a detailed cover letter, (2) a statement of teaching philosophy and practice, and (3) a statement of research interests, practice, and future plans (including the capability to conduct quality research on a limited budget). Include a Curriculum, Vitae, graduate transcripts, evidence of teaching effectiveness, including quantitative and discursive students' evaluations, and three current reference letters (at least one covering teaching capability and practice).
