The Department of Aerospace Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign seeks highly qualified candidates for two faculty positions. We are pursuing outstanding candidates working in the subject areas of: (1) Composite materials, multifunctional materials, additive manufacturing (all ranks); and (2) Aerospace controls, autonomous aerospace systems (adjunct or associate professor level) or related areas. Preference will be given to qualified candidates working in emerging areas of aerospace engineering whose scholarly activities have high impact.

Our faculty and students have access to world-class experimental and computational facilities located in on-campus multidisciplinary research centers, including the Aerodynamics Research Laboratory, the Coordinated Science Laboratory, the Frederick Seitz Materials Research Laboratory, the Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology, and the National Center for Supercomputing Applications. Candidates interested in becoming affiliated with one or more of these research centers should indicate so in their cover letter.
