Summary of tasks and Responsibilities
The Audiovisual practice Team within Information Technology Services (ITS) at Iowa State University is currently seeking candidates for a System Support Specialist. This position will support ISU faculty and staff in the design, use, and application of audiovisual (AV) technology in university spaces. This includes demonstration, training, troubleshooting, maintenance, and installation of audiovisual technology equipment and systems. This position also provides consulting, design, and leadership abilities in the installation of audiovisual technology and presentation systems.
This position may be filled at a higher level depending on the candidate’s practice. In addition to the responsibilities noted above, the higher level function will train and mentor students, staff, and contractors and be responsible for researching emerging technologies and working collaboratively to position the university infrastructure to accommodate and implement those new technologies campus wide.
In addition to audiovisual solutions, ITS also provides core computing, network services, enterprise systems, and information security resources to students, faculty, and staff. ITS also collaborates with technology experts campus wide to provide specialized AV and Information technology resources to academic and business units.
The prosperous candidate for this position will have strong audiovisual technology expertise, the capability to work in collaboration with various groups of people, excellent communication and problem solving expertise, and the interest in working on projects campus wide at a variety of locations including minimal travel.
