Position Summary
This recruitment will be used to fill one part-time (a maximum of 20 hours per week) Student Outreach adjunct positions for the KidSpirit Program in the College of Public Health and Human Sciences at Oregon State University (OSU).
Weekly work hours are a maximum of 20 hours per week during Fall, Winter, and Spring terms and 20-40 hours per week during the summer located on student's summer enrollment.
KidSpirit's goal is to provide a quality and safe environment for all campers, parents, and staff. Employees should always be prepared and willing to respond to the unexpected.
KidSpirit prides itself in challenging its employees to grow as individual's while gaining professional practice.
Position tasks
100% – Specific tasks and percentages vary depending on the student assignment but tasks may include:
   » The major tasks of this position include creating graphics for program brochures and posters, social media, editing websites, and developing presentations. The student will use the Adobe Creative Suite.
Other tasks may include:
   » Assist with the creation, editing, updating and maintenance of program projects and reports; maintain a variety of schedules.
   » Attending orientations, meetings, and in-service trainings.
   » Completing and submitting appropriate documents as needed (incident/accident
reports, monthly timesheets, lesson plans, etc.).
   » Using information technology to assist with maintaining systems or database security.
   » Perform data entry functions which may include personal information.
   » Processing financial transactions (cash, check and credit card payments) and making cash deposits.
   » Maintain equipment and supplies inventory.
   » Administer first aid and activate emergency action steps if medical attention is required. May care for sick/injured students including handling medications.

   » practice with Adobe Creative Suite.
   » A demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.
   » practice with web-page design (Drupal would be a plus but not required).
   » Current, valid First Aid certification by start of programming.
   » Current, valid CPR Adult/Child certification by start of programming.
Working Conditions / Work Schedule
   » Position works directly with minors.
   » tasks are performed in an environment appropriate for the activity/sport they are instructing such as a gym, kitchen, field, etc.
   » Work may be performed at various locations, on or off the main campus, and in varying weather conditions and temperatures.
   » The student will work with the manager to schedule regular hours during the week. There may be additional times scheduled located on program needs to include evening and weekends.
   » Position may need to assist participants with emergency medication and medical monitoring (e.g. EpiPen, diabetes testing) as needed.
