BASIC FUNCTION:

Responsible for developing and administering social media content for the Claremont McKenna College Office of Alumni & Parent Relations that is designed to engage our constituents and create an interactive relationship between our alumni, families, students, and the College. Plan and execute compelling events that engage the student body and introduce them to the alumni association. Develop promo products and manage marketing, sales, and distribution of online alumni store. Perform a broad range of support functions in the Office of Parent Relations. Assist adjunct/associate vice president, director and adjunct/associate directors of alumni and parent relations.

DESCRIPTION OF tasks AND Job responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
   » Manage social media marketing campaigns and day-to-day activities. Develop content significant to alumni, families, and students. Create, curate, and manage all publishedcontent (images, video and written, develop and expand community and/or influencer outreach efforts), supervise design (i.e.: Facebook Timeline cover, profile pic, thumbnails, ads, landing pages, Twitter profile, Blog, etc.), design, create and manage promotions and socialad campaigns, manage efforts in building online reviews and reputation.
   » Demonstrate capability to map out a comprehensive marketing plan. Drive strategies that areproven by testing and metrics.
   » Monitor effective benchmarks (best practices)for measuring the impact of social media campaigns. Analyze, review, and report on effectiveness of campaigns in an effort to maximize results.
   » Supervise student social media intern team.
   » Plan, publicize, and implement student engagement programming focused on connecting alumni with current students and increasing student consciousness of the CMC Alumni Association and membership in the alumni community.
   » Assist in the planning and execution of all major alumni and parent events as assigned and serve as back-up event support.
   » Serve as Alumni Store lead responsible for the sourcing of CMC branded products, marketing and maintaining Alumni Store website, monitoring sales, and distribution.
   » Demonstrate professionalism and poise in responding to the public and various internal constituencies, including trustees, donors, faculty members, students, and staff.
   » Answer phones and receive visitors in the Office of Alumni and Parent Relations.
   » Work in a collaborative, flexible, and team focused manner.
   » Serve as back up with supervision/assignments of student interns.
   » Cross-train on other administrative functions in order to expertiseably field questions and perform tasks in colleagues’ absence or in support of colleagues as needed.
   » Perform other essential tasks and tasks specific to the position and other tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:

suitable education Any combination of education and practice equivalent to graduation from high school plus 3-4 years of additional education and training is required.

LICENSES: A valid driver’s license or equivalent means of reliable transportation to off-site meetings and events is required.

Proficiency in the use of e-mail software and the capability to manipulate attachments.
Requires exceptional professional writing, editing, and analytical expertise. Must possess strong verbal expertise.

This position may require the capability to lift materials and supplies for events, such as floral arrangements, chairs, podium, etc., up to 50 pounds.

OTHER:
HOURS: The regular hours for this full time position are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday. Overtime, holiday, weekend and evening work hours will be required. Travel may be required. Regular hours may vary due to needs of the College or division. This is a 12- month position.
