The University of Connecticut is seeking qualified candidates for a paid full-time internship position in the Athletic Communications Office. The intern will serve as the primary contact for several sports as assigned; will be involved with special projects as they develop; and will assist with other programs including football and men's and women's basketball.
Minimum Appropriate qualifications: Bachelor's degree; previous media relations or collegiate sports information practice; expertise of NCAA rules and regulations; excellent organizational, communication and public relations expertise.
Preferred Appropriate qualifications: Previous practice in website maintenance highly desired; previous practice with desktop publishing software as well as Photoshop highly desired; working expertise of the StatCrew statistical software package, specifically for soccer, volleyball, basketball, ice hockey, lacrosse, and baseball/softball; capability to work athletic events, irregular schedules, weekends and evenings are required.
This is an immediate opening.
Appointment Term: Following administrative review, the position may be renewed for a second term.
