Listing description Working closely with Football Academic Counselor and reporting directly to the Associate Director/Director of Football Academic Advising, this position will provide an opportunity for hands on practice in the field of Athletic Academics in an atmosphere that emphasizes the primacy of student-athletes' academic responsibilities in the attainment of academic success.

tasks and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Study Table Coordinator
   » Create and distribute study table requirements at beginning of term
   » After consultation with football counselors regarding requirements for study hall/tutoring, work with learning coordinators to create schedules around class and football obligations
   » Monitor and report Study Hall/Mentor Tutor/Tutor attendance
   » Monitor attendance during the day to make sure student- athletes are at their appointments
   » Follow up with student-athletes regarding missed appointments
   » Monitor Study Hall
   » Be present during evening study halls in football meeting rooms
   » Ensure the student-athletes are working on academic work and completing their objectives.
Objective located Study Hall
   » Create and monitor weekly objective sheets for select students using deadlines in syllabi, in cooperation with Mentor Tutors and other Football advisors.
   » Assist Mentor Tutors in verifying all work is being completed and signing off on objectives
Learning adjunct
   » Serve as a learning adjunct to selected student-athletes in a one-on-one or group setting to support their academic pursuits
   » Provide organizational and learning strategies to student-athletes
   » Develop daily, weekly, and monthly goals and timelines with individual student-athletes
   » Assure student-athletes with documented learning disabilities are properly using their accommodations
Recruiting
   » Meet with recruits on their visits to discuss academic programs and the services we provide
   » Organize recruiting packets to give prospective student-athletes
University and Academic Center Orientation
   » Assist in preparation for University orientation programs (placement exams, managing class conflicts if applicable)
   » Help coordinate attendance at University orientation events
   » Organize and coordinate mandatory Lindahl Academic Center orientation activities
Other tasks
   » Distribute travel letters to student-athletes
   » Assist in the registration process
   » Follow up weekly with bookstore to determine which student-athletes have not picked up their books at the beginning of the semester. Work with student-athletes and coaching staff until all books are picked up.
   » Review syllabi and work with student-athletes to ensure they receive required materials for courses.
   » Participate in Honorary Coach Program
   » Monitor students with service learning requirements to ensure progress and completion
   » Monitor PES students and ensure they are meeting their program requirements
   » Other tasks as assigned

REQUIRED Appropriate qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required.
PREFERRED Appropriate qualifications: This position will require the capability to accomplish tasks, a desire to work in college athletics and academic support for student-athletes, with minimal supervision, excellent listening, written, and verbal expertise.
