Position Summary
The Department of Crop and Soil Science invites applications for one or more fixed-term, non-tenure-track, full/part-time Instructor positions to teach on a term-by-term basis for the 2018-2019 academic year. Some of these appointments may be reviewed for renewal or transition to an instructional position on an annual basis at the discretion of the Department Head.
Instructors may be needed to teach on campus and Ecampus courses in undergraduate and graduate areas. Instructors may also assist with advising.
The primary mission of the Department of Crop and Soil Science is to provide undergraduate education. The curriculum encompasses most standard fields of the discipline.
Applications will be considered all over the 2018-2019 academic year.
Position tasks
100% Instruction
Preparing and presenting teaching material; creating and grading assignments, quizzes and exams; assessing grades; holding office hours, as necessary; and advising.
Minimum/Required Qualifications
Master’s degree in Soil Science, Crop Science, Environmental Science, Plant Breeding and Genetics, Entomology or a related field, depending on the class being taught.
Preferred (Special) Qualifications
Evidence of teaching practice.
A demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.
