Cultural Affairs Producer

This is an at-will grant funded staff position. The University of Wyoming invites diverse candidates to consider our employment opportunities. We are also especially interested in candidates who have practice working with diverse populations and/or diverse initiatives.

Essential tasks

Reporting to the Cultural Affairs and Production Director, coordinate day-to-day activity in areas of topic selection, story ideas, and episode development for the HumaNature and related podcasts. Book guests, conduct pre-interviews, develop and write scripts, and produce show segments. Host HumaNature on a fill-in basis.
Produce general and arts and culture content for WPM multi-platform dissemination; create and moderate interactive online discussion, and/or live forums as assigned.
Track activity across all platforms and initiatives related to the position's topic areas. Provide in-depth reports for distribution to management and other stakeholders.
Coordinating with WPM management, participate in and contribute to WPM's grant research and writing initiatives.
Coordinating with management, participate in marketing activities that help disseminate content locally, nationally, and globally.
Create and produce content for on-air fund drives, including fund drive-specific programs, promotional content, and fund drive spots.
Provide instruction to students, interns, and/or volunteers connected with this position. Supervise student/temporary employees.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Arts or related fields and verifiable practice producing arts and culture content for multi-platform dissemination.
Excellent written, oral, and verbal communication expertise.

Desired Qualifications

Two years prosperous practice creating and producing podcasts.
Master's degree in a broadcast, journalism, or humanities area.
Strong audience numbers for podcasts.
