South Dakota State University is accepting applications for a full-time, 12 month, benefit-eligible position that will serve as an Associate Athletic Trainer - Head Football ATC. This position will assist the adjunct Athletic Director for Sports Medicine and other sports medicine staff with administering athletic training services for 19 men's and women's intercollegiate sports teams. tasks include, but are not limited to: work with and under the supervision of the Medical Director and Team Physicians; instruct in CAATE approved undergraduate and CAATE entry level athletic training programs as an ACI/CI; supervise undergraduate and graduate athletic training student-athletes; provide primary sport coverage for the SDSU Football team; evaluate and administer first aid to the injured student-athletes; coordinate referrals and maintain communication with athletic health care team and coaches; and administer therapeutic exercise and modalities under supervision of a physician.

MINIMUM Appropriate qualifications:
   » Earned Master’s degree by the time of appointment (preference to be in Athletic Training, Athletic Administration or Sports Science);
   » Minimum of three (3) years’ practice in athletic training (preference working with football);
   » At least one year of practice supervising athletic training students;
   » BOC certified/SD License or eligible;
   » CPR and First Aid certified;
   » Effective communication (oral, written and interpersonal) expertise;
   » Demonstrated organizational and time management expertise;
   » Demonstrated computer application expertise.
PREFERRED Appropriate qualifications:
   » Division I intercollegiate practice;
   » practice working with the sport of football;
   » At least five years’ of practice in athletic training (preference working with football);
   » practice with team travel responsibilities;
   » practice with supply ordering/monitoring;
   » Knowledge and/or knowledge of electronic medical records (SIMS) and capability to follow HIPAA/FERPA;
   » Knowledge and/or knowledge of medical insurance.
