Position Summary:
The School of Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Sport Management, and Hospitality & Tourism, one of three schools in the College of Business, invites applications for an adjunct Professor tenure-track faculty position (position #2031) in Hospitality & Tourism beginning in either January of 2019 or August of 2019.
This position requires teaching courses at the undergraduate level, teaching both online and face-to-face courses, scholarly research, advising, and service activities. A commitment to active engagement with professionals in the regional business community supporting economic development is expected. The normal teaching load is 18 semester hours per academic year. Some teaching responsibilities may be at off-site locations and during evening hours.
The prosperous candidate will demonstrate the capability to contribute to the mission of the Hospitality and Tourism Management program which seeks to prepare graduates to be Business Ready® to meet the needs of the industry and become leading professionals in their field. The mission is achieved through sound theoretical course work, research and innovative learning activities, industry engagement and service learning.

Western Carolina University is a regional comprehensive university located in Cullowhee, NC, in a scenic rural valley between the Blue Ridge and Great Smokey Mountains. Cullowhee is 50 miles west of Asheville, NC, and 2 ½ hours north of Atlanta.
Minimum Appropriate qualifications:
A Ph.D. in an appropriate business field from an accredited institution or a terminal degree in a closely related field is required. candidates who are ABD and will defend their dissertation and complete all the degree requirements on or before August 1, 2019 will be considered.
