The Aerospace, Defense and Marine (Aerospace, Defense and Marine or AD&M) business unit of TE is part of the Industrial Solutions segment (Industrial Solutions) and is a world leader in the design of components and electrical interconnection solutions that are used for applications in extreme and rigorous environments. JOB OVERVIEW

TE Connectivity's Purchasing Teams are responsible for obtaining materials, components, equipment and services, gather quotations, examine bids, and award contracts. They perform cost analysis and volume planning for commodities, evaluate vendor relicapability and develop new supply sources where required. They coordinate purchasing activities with the manufacturing and engineering departments to maintain inventory at planned levels and monitor cost, schedule, and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value. They also look for and recommend cost saving proposals including make vs. buy analysis, alternative sourcing, and vendor evaluation criteria as well as develop specifications for new contract orders.

RESPONSIBILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS

* Engages in the setting-up, operation and maintenance of purchasing department, including purchasing and expediting goods-inwards.

* Work for the Supply Chain Manager and Purchasing manager to carry out all required tasks

* Work in conformity with company and departmental policies and procedures

* Work from engineering drawings, procedures and bill of materials

* Purchasing

* Setting-up, operation and maintenance of a purchasing system

* Ensuring all enquiries for purchasing are comprehensive and accurate

* Achieve optimum requirements, spares and economy of scale

* Seeking competitive quotes and optimum price/delivery from suppliers

* Establishing relationships with key suppliers

* Establishing documentation and certification requirements with key suppliers

* Monitoring purchasing progress

* Keeping other departments notified of purchasing status

* Ensuring favorable payment schedules with suppliers

* Expediting

* Ensuring timely deliveries

* Maintain set schedules

* Expediting late suppliers

Would prefer 3-5 years practice in a manufacturing environment.
