Job Description

This position supports the mission driven work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. supervises the development and operations of various programs including; Aquatics, Youth and Family Services, Marketing, Special Events, and Volunteerism. Recruits, trains and supports assigned staff in order to build a community centered culture of engagement and deepen our impact footprint all over our service area. Provides liaison to the Marketing and Membership & Program Committees and attends Board of Director Meetings.  Collaborates with community stakeholders.

Qualifications
   » Bachelor's degree in human services, social services, recreation, business or equivalent. 
   » Four or more years of program management practice, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency.
   » capability to direct programs through supervision of volunteers and staff, development and monitoring of budgets, marketing and public relations, program development and fund-raising.
   » Prefer expertise of, and previous practice with, diverse populations.
   » Proven track record of developing authentic and deepened relationships with others.
   » capability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.
   » YMCA Team Leader or Multi-team/Branch Leader certification preferred.
   » CPR and First Aid certifications may be required.
Essential Functions
1.     Develops, implements, and manages operating plans to promote program and/or membership growth for the YMCA with an overall goal of deepening member engagement. Executes strategies to ensure that members and/or program participants connect with one another and connect with the YMCA and our mission.
2.     Develops and controls department budgets related to the position.
3.     Hires, trains, and supervises staff and volunteers in assigned areas. Facilitates communication and provides leadership abilities. Models relationship-building expertise in all interactions.
4.     Provides leadership abilities and support to the annual fundraising campaign and volunteer committees/
boards as assigned. Develops and maintains effective working relationships within the community.
5.     Assures compliance with state and local regulations. Ensures that program standards are met and safety procedures are followed.
6.     Ensures high quality member-focused programs through innovative program development, evaluations and on-going training of staff.
7.     Coordinates special events and activities including two annual race events to engage the community, build relationships and share our mission impact with our service area.
8.     Provides data and reports as required for assigned programs in a dynamic and engaging manner.

9.     Performs other tasks as assigned.
