Job Description
Under the guidance and supervision of the CEO, the Child Care/Camp Director will supervise operations of the School Age Child Care (SACC) program as well as the Summer Day Camp program.  This position will include management of multiple different SACC locations within elementary school facilities in Harrison County.  Operations include, but are not limited to:  staff management and scheduling, payment/collections, program cirriculum development, cultivating relationships between parents, school administrators, state licensing representatives and others in the community.  
Qualifications
   » At least two years' practice in supervision of a child care program and/or day camp setting, or related program.
   » capability and desire to work with children ages 3 through teen.
   » Knowledge/practice with the state's Department of Health and Human Resources child care licensing regulations.
   » capability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment that may include evenings, early mornings and weekends.
   » High degree of interpersonal communication expertise and the capability to maintain confidentiality when necessary.
   » practice with developing and managing an annual budget.
   » capability to work as a team member and team leader, including working alongside other departments at the Y.
   » practice with computer operations, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher, etc.).
Essential Functions
This position will supervise 3-4 school age child care sites located within the county at school facilities.  The Director is responsible for growing the enrollment and success of each site, providing the highest quality practice for all participants and potential participants.  The Director will ensure that all requirements and regulations that are mandated through state licensed child care are satisfied at all times.  tasks will include preparing reports for state subsidy reimbursements; staff recruitment, evaluations/counseling, dismissals; relationship building with child care and camp parents; identifying community needs as they apply to the child care and camp departments; ensuring that weekly payments are made on time and remain current; market child care and camp programs above and beyond the normal scope of program promotion at the Y.  The Director will participate in various fundraising events and functions at the Y, including the Annual Campaign and Special Events that are held all over the year.  This position may assume other tasks as assigned.

Required Certifications
   » Four year degree in Early Childhood Development, Early Childhood Education or related field.
   » Two years of practice in a child care/camp setting.
   » Current valid CPR/AED and First Aid certification for Adult and Child.
   » Be at least 21 years of age or older.
   » Current valid state-issued driver's license.
   » practice with YMCA child care and/or camp programs is preferred, but not required.
Upon hire, a criminal background clearance will be conducted through WV Cares and Child Protective Services.  
Within 30 days of hire, the Director must provide a health assessment report signed by a licensed health care provider, a TB risk assessment, completion of Child Abuse Recognition and avoidance training through DHHR and Bloodborne Pathogens training.  Final candidate must be registered with WV STARS Career Pathway.
