Job Details

The United World College-USA is seeking a full time, 32 hour per week Coordinator of Experiential Education. The Coordinator of Experiential Education (ExEd) understands and supports the mission of UWC-USA as fundamental to all activities.  The function is to support the ExEd Track Leaders and programs with logistical and administrative tasks, maintaining a high-quality and accessible experiential education practice for students and employees, as well as leveraging strategic opportunities for collaboration and program synergy with local community and partners.  
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
Student practice
   » Implement and manage logistical aspects of the experiential education and CAS programs
   » Lead two ExEds
   » Assist and support students, faculty, and community partners as requested by the Wilderness, Sustaincapability, Constructive Engagement, and Arts and Culture Track Leaders
   » As requested by Track Leaders and Dean, support all aspects of experiential education; ensure risk management, appropriate levels of challenge, and the most effective practice for all students
   » Monitor, assess, and document student performance as needed
   » Participate in Southwest Studies and Project Week
 
            Administrative functions:
   » Work closely to incorporate CAS and all IB requirements, as well as integrating UWC-USA ExEd requirements
   » Help submit check requests and credit card reports as needed
   » Manage data, student requirements, reporting, and recommendations
   » Assist with related fundraising as directed
   » As directed by Track Leaders and Dean, support communication with staff/interns/volunteers  
   » Address student and employee queries on experiential education matters
   » Support planning and implementation of Southwest Studies and Project Week
   » Assist with orientation and end of year programming
   » Utilize appropriate channels for documenting and sharing success stories to help promote UWC-USA
   » Special Events: Partner with Track Leaders and ExEd/Res Dean to plan, implement, and assess UWC Day, MLK Day, ExEd Assessment Day, Annual Conference, other events
   » Other tasks as requested by the Dean

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:
   » Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
   » Requires sitting for long periods of time, as well as moving around, event set-up.
   » Some physical effort required, including lifting 25 lbs or more at times.
   » None or very limited exposure to physical risk.
 
UWC-USA is an international boarding school. Information technology enrolls 230 students in grades 11 and 12. All students follow the IB Diploma program. Roughly twenty percent of the students come from the USA; the remainder represent over 90 different countries. Students are admitted on the basis of merit.
