POSITION: Quality Inspector

The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for verifying incoming materials received from suppliers is in compliance with company drawings, specifications, and requirements. Additional responsibilities will include performance of in-process floor inspections and final assembly inspections. The verification process includes, but is not limited to: current revision, total quantity, material type, physical dimensions, aesthetic appearance, etc. and will involve the use of inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, CMM systems, microscopes, go/no-go gauges, etc. The position will also be responsible for interacting with the purchasing, engineering, and production staffs to determine the cause and disposition of non-conforming parts.

* The quality inspector would inspect electro-mechanical parts, electronic systems, assemblies, sub -assemblies, components, and parts for conformance to specifications

* Lot sampling and accurate inspection of material received from suppliers

* Verification of first article inspection of new or revised product/raw material

* Maintaining inspection records

* capability to program and run an optical measuring device, such as a MicroVu CMM is desired

* Record and publish inspection results and take action on material disposition per the company process

* Accurately process all material transactions all over the inspection process

* Create defective material reports of non-conforming material and share with support staff in order to effectively root cause the issue with the supplier

* Must be an effective team player who actively participates and cooperates with others to improve the overall quality of our products

* Coordinate with Quality Engineering to obtain supplier RMA for nonconforming product

* Help develop and enforce incoming inspection and testing methods

REQUIRED expertise:

* High school diploma (or equivalent) with 5+ years of practice or Associate degree with 3+ years of practice

* Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

DESIRED expertise:

* Security Clearance or capability to obtain a must

* capability to read schematics, blueprints, CAD drawings, and assembly documentation

* Inspection practice with circuit cards, metal fabricated parts and sub-assemblies

* Must have effective communication and interpersonal expertise across all functions within the organization and outside

* Strong organizational and record keeping expertise

* MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint practice

* expertise of Oracle is desirable

* Proficient with dimensional inspection and test equipment (calipers, micrometers, pin gauges, gauge blocks, Go/No-Go gauges, etc.)

* Working expertise of IPC/workmanship standards, soldering techniques and ESD

* practice with coordinate measurement machines

* practice with GD&T principles and tolerance analysis

* ASQ, IPC ANSI certifications are a plus
