Position Summary

Job Summary:

The New Product Producibility Industrialization Manager works in conjunction with Rockwell Automation's Business Units and is responsible for leading all new printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) industrialization activities from conceptual design to production release to ensure that designs are as producible as possible. This includes the leadership abilities of global industrialization engineering team members that support these businesses as well as collaboration across Operations and Engineering Services functions to ensure a smooth product release into manufacturing.

The Industrialization Manager will report to the Director of New Product Producibility Engineering.

Principal tasks:
   » Manage global Industrialization team members and provide cost effective manufacturing processes for new printed circuit board assembly introductions into Rockwell Automation manufacturing facilities.
   » Support and drive key success measures for product industrialization including cost estimating/optimization, prototype and pilot activities and operations readiness.
   » Engage Design Engineering early in the product development process and coordinate design for manufacturcapability/assembly (DFA/DFM) to ensure that the product as producible as possible when released to the manufacturing facilities.
   » Engage the Business Unit, Design Engineering, Operations and other Engineering Services functions to ensure the effective and on-time launch into Manufacturing within budget with the highest levels of product quality.
   » Drive standardization on industrialization standard documentations (Process flow charts, DFA/DFM, Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFEMA) activities, and work instructions.
   » Implement department goals, priorities, operating methods and procedures.
   » Prioritize projects connected with shared resources.
   » Communicate formally and informally with outside departments concerning department status and project requirements.
   » Conduct performance appraisals for direct reports and provide input to the appraisals of other department members working in teams.
   » Ensure thorough familiarity with policies and procedures relating to standards of business conduct and train and motivate team members in the importance of full compliance with the letter and spirit of such policies and proceduresEOE, M/F/Disabled, Vet

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Appropriate qualifications:
   » Bacheloru0027s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
   » Minimum of 8 years of managerial practice.
   » Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
Desired Appropriate qualifications:
   » expertise and demonstrated successes in new product development, design for manufacturcapability/assembly and manufacturing processes.
   » practice in leading new product development resources supporting multiple businesses and development teams.
   » practice in product line design and implementation, manufacturing process design, documented work instruction creation, fixture design and error proofing techniques (poka-yoke).
   » practice with risk mitigation tools for design and manufacturing (DFMEA and PFMEA).
   » practiced in product cost estimation and optimization and establishing bills of materials and routings.
   » Demonstrated practice in business process improvement activities, including lean/six sigma tools and techniques.
   » practice in manufacturing or design engineering in a printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) manufacturing environment
   » Master of Science in Engineering Management or Masters of Business Administration
   » Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt or equivalent.
   » Proficient in SAP idea-to-offer applications. #LI-SW2
