The Eastern Michigan University Foundation (EMUF) is an institutionally related nonprofit organization that solicits and manages funds on behalf of Eastern Michigan University (EMU).
The Graduate adjunct will provide support to annual giving efforts for Athletics that will generate revenue through donor solicitations, direct mail campaigns, benefits fulfillment, stewardship and events. Other tasks as assigned by the adjunct Athletic Director for Development and/or Senior Associate Athletic Director for Development.
Essential tasks:
• Work closely with and provide support to the adjunct Athletic Director for Development and Senior Associate Athletic Director for Development to develop and pursue on-going fundraising plans and priorities.
• Execute donor events including cultivation, stewardship and solicitation focuses. Execution to include scheduling, coordination of materials and event follow up.
• Administer donor stewardship process.
• Administer donor renewal process.
• Administer donor data process and prospecting for adjunct Athletic Director for Development and Senior Associate Athletic Director for Development.
• Administer Football Suite Level in coordination with University.
• Directly assist assigned sports and head coaches in fundraising goals and objectives.
• Assist in the preparation of materials and presentations for special projects and committees including presentation packets for gift solicitations, committee, board and volunteer meetings.
• Strengthen the unit's volunteer network and utilize this network more effectively for fundraising within the unit. Maintain database for resource development boards, committees and volunteer groups.
• Assist in recruitment of student works and project guidance.
Other tasks:
• Attend unit and Foundation related meetings when requested.
• Provide leadership abilities and participate actively in Foundation activities such as recruiting and interviewing new employees, attending departmental meetings and retreats and participating in appropriate University events.
• Work cooperatively with Foundation professional staff to further University-wide fundraising goals.
• Work effectively and cooperatively with senior management at the EMU Foundation.
• Other tasks as assigned by adjunct Athletic Director for Development and/or Senior Associate Athletic Director for Development.

Appropriate qualifications:
   » Bachelor's degree with practice in development, marketing or communications.
   » capability to manage, plan and organize, set priorities and establish work objectives, follow through on assignments; exhibit flexibility; anticipate work issues and problems; and provide leadership abilities to projects.
   » Proficiency in personal computing expertise including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point; availability to lgain donor management program.
   » capability to work professionally and effectively with external constituencies.
   » capability to present oral and written information effectively and clearly; capability to listen effectively and solicit information from others.
   » capability to manage an irregular work schedule including occasional evenings, early mornings, and weekends. May involve use of personal transportation to travel all over southeastern Michigan.
   » practice participating in or working in athletics preferred.
   » Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication expertise are necessary.
