Position Summary
This recruitment will be used to fill one part-time (a maximum of 20 hours per week) Student Clerical position for the College of Education at Oregon State University (OSU).
The College of Education contributes to major national dialogues concerning research and the promotion of social justice in (1) the success of English language learners elementary through college; (2) instruction elementary through college; (3) learning in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics inside and outside of school; (4) mental health and school counseling (5) higher education leadership abilities; and (6) adult learning. Our emphasis on social justice develops professionals who promote equitable access and full-development of individual human potential. As a part of the Division of Arts and Sciences we support the division’s campus-wide function in providing a well-rounded, compelling educational practice. Our work seeks to enhance and extend the historic democratic mission of public suitable education to prepare all citizens, across their lifetime for full participation in a culturally diverse and technical world. This position, as with all position within the College of Education, is directly responsible for advancing the mission of the College.
This position provides excellent student and customer service to support the staff, faculty, visitors, students and administration of the College of Education while working in a busy office with frequent distractions and interruptions. candidates must demonstrate a commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.
Position tasks
Directly assist the Administrative staff on:
Paper file digitization and organization.
Data entry and data quality control in Student and Faculty database.
Work with manager to create realistic time management strategies for project completion.
Manage timelines and assess capability to meet deadlines.
Find and confirm appropriate data sources for data compilation projects.
Work independently to create professional spreadsheets, documents or other materials.
Complete assigned projects accurately and in a timely manner.
Complete training required to satisfactorily complete assigned tasks.
Maintain current Inventory in digital checkout system.
Add and remove items from inventory.
Identify/log equipment needing upgrades or repair.
Use Zircon system to check out equipment to faculty and students.
Check receipts for overdue equipment bimonthly and follow up with student or faculty member to arrange return.
Greet faculty, staff and visitors when they enter the office.
Answer phone calls and in person questions.
Direct visitors to appropriate offices or meeting rooms.
Other tasks as assigned.

Working Conditions / Work Schedule
All work is carried out in Furman Hall with the majority of time in the Deans Suite, a business/office environment. Some time may be spent organizing and cleaning storage areas and working with technology and equipment inventory.
