NEBH is seeking a dynamic, innovative, and clinically excellent physician leader to lead its Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R).
Position description
The Chief, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation will provide visionary clinical leadership abilities for the department, and strategic and operational leadership abilities to drive program and service growth. The Department Chief participates in NEBH’s quality assurance programs and supervises recruitment, mentoring and continuing education of all clinical personnel in the Department.
A medical degree with board certification in PM&R is required. This individual should have a track record of clinical leadership abilities, scholarly activity, and professional service in rehabilitation medicine as appropriate to advance the reputation and growth of the organization. He or she should be an open and straightforward communicator, and be team-oriented.
The Organization
Recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the top orthopedic hospitals in the United States in 2017-2018, NEBH also has been awarded the prestigious patient satisfaction Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence Award for the tenth year in a row.
NEBH conducts teaching programs in collaboration with Tufts University School of Medicine, Harvard School of Public Health and the Harvard School of Medicine. Numerous highly competitive Fellowships are offered each year, including in physical medicine and rehabilitation.
In 2011, the organization began implementation of its newly developed strategic plan, including the key element of ambulatory network development. Outpatient medical, surgical, and therapy services are provided at multiple locations across Massachusetts, including a brand new, state-of-the-art 66,000 square foot facility.
With PM&R strongly established as an integral component of spinal treatment best practice at NEBH, the organization recognizes potential for PM&R treatment of other musculoskeletal disorders. Information technology is anticipated that the new Chief of PM&R will develop and implement new program and service areas for PM&R at NEBH, while continuing to build upon and grow the clinical and research excellence of the Spine Center.
