The Waterville YMCA is growing and adding a full-time year round Facilities Director.

Job Description
The Facilities Director is responsible for the maintenance, cleanliness, and operation of the building, equipment, and grounds of all Alfond Youth Center facilities (Alfond Youth Center, Camp Tracy, Maine’s Fenway Park, Purnell Wrigley Field, and other acquired properties). This person will perform general and preventive maintenance and repairs as required and within his/her capabilities as well as supervise houskeeping and maintenance staff.
Appropriate qualifications:
   » Prior practice in the fields of plumbing, heating, electricity, glazing and carpentry.
   » expertise of industrial cleaning supplies, tools, machines and equipment
   » practice with training, supervision and scheduling of staff. 
   » General expertise of maintaining facilities.
   » capability to work independently or as part of a team.
   » capability to pass State Bureau of Investigation, Department of Health and Human Services, Department of Motor Vehicle, Fraud and Sex Offender Registry background checks.   
Education Requirements: 
   » Minimum of a two year degree from a technical or vocational school with work practice as a maintenance person
Essential Functions
Essential tasks and Job responsibilities:
   » Direct and operate the physical plant programs and services in conformity with the standards, philosophies, and policies of the Alfond Youth Center, and within budget limitations.
   » Keep the building(s) properly heated and lighted and the plumbing, electrical, and heating systems properly maintained.
   » Develop and track a comprehensive work order and preventive maintenance plan for all Alfond Youth Center properties.
   » Prioritize and coordinate repairs to the building(s) and equipment (both on and off-site) according to Work Order and PM plan, discussing major repairs with the Operations Director and/or the Buildings & Grounds Committee.
   » Maintain grounds during all seasons and at all sites.
   » Ensure an annual assessment, consistent within the strategic plan, is conducted on the operation and maintenance of facilities.
   » Ensure that compliance with all Federal, state, and local standards and regulations and certificates and inspection schedules are current and accurate. Records are complete and accurate.
   » Hazards are identified and removed insuring a safe environment for staff, members, and guests.
   » Conduct general and safety inspections of the building and equipment on a regular basis.
   » Assist the professional staff with maintenance and repair of their facilities and equipment.
   » Submit monthly reports to the Buildings & Grounds Committee on needs and repairs of the facility.
   » supervise Housekeeping & Maintenance staff (Full Time and Part Time), in maintaining the cleanliness of the building(s) according to schedule and within budget.
   » Performance issues with staff are discussed at a time and place appropriate to the type, seriousness, and complexity of the problem.
   » Conduct formal assessments and evaluations of staff. Insure they are carried out objectively and consistently, located upon criteria within the job description.
   » Assist the staff in preparations for special events and programs.
   » Recruit and train, with the assistance of the Human Resources Director, paid and/or volunteer maintenance and custodial staff.
