Job Description
The Wallace H. Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering seeks a Lecturer who has a strong interest in developing and using innovative pedagogies that foster the development of an entrepreneurial mindset. We are particularly interested in individual who can teach undergraduate courses in of biomechanics, biotransport, bioinstrumentation, biosignal processing, or statistics.
This new position will not only involve the creation and teaching of courses, but will also support co-curricular efforts related to the department's portfolio program, which is designed to support entrepreneurial-minded learning in our students. Students with an entrepreneurial mindset are curious, explore contrarian views of accepted solutions, and gain novel insights by integrating information from many sources. They understand the big picture, recognize opportunities, and lgain from their mistakes.
The prosperous candidate will have the requisite expertise to work collaboratively with Coulter Department faculty, staff, students and other stakeholders to create a learning environment that will increase student success and identity development as entrepreneurially-minded engineers. This is a full-time, 12-month non-tenure track faculty position. While the primary responsibilities will be course development and teaching, other responsibilities will include a prominent function in working with faculty and staff to develop and maintain the department's portfolio program. These additional responsibilities include: •Providing leadership abilities in developing and maintaining a portfolio program that supports student identity development as entrepreneurially-minded engineers, in partnership with faculty and undergraduate student leaders •Incorporating reflection and narrative approaches into student development and learning interventions •Coordinating faculty development activities in portfolio thinking and entrepreneurial-minded learning pedagogies •Serving on the Undergraduate Committee

Basic Qualifications •Bachelor's degree or higher in an engineering field •PhD in a related field from an accredited institution •PhD in engineering, engineering education, educational psychology, or related fields Preferred Qualifications •At least three to five years of practice working as a professional engineer •Prior practice with ePortfolios or other systematic student development approaches
