Job Description
The primary responsibility of the Staff Accountant is to support the Chief Financial agent in carrying out the daily, monthly and yearly accounting functions of the YMCA.  The Accountant is required to prepare accurate and timely reconciliations of general ledger accounts, audit, analyze and verify fiscal records and reports, prepare financial and statistical reports, and provide information to YMCA staff regarding accounting practices and procedures.
   » Bachelor's Degree in accounting and a minimum of six (6) months of accounting work practice.
   » Strong analytical and accounting expertise.
   » Previous experince working with Microsoft Office products, Excel and Outlook are a must.
   » Attention to detail with strong organizational and time management expertise.
   » Strong service orientation and capability to work with diverse groups of people.
   » capability to communicate effectively with managers, co-workers, vendors, clients, outside agencies and the general public.
   » capability to work effectively and efficiently with little or no supervision.
Essential Functions
   »  Preparation of detailed monthly balance sheet account reconciliations.
Prepare monthly entries and reversing entries as needed. 
Process and distribute monthly financial reports from the general ledger system.
Assist with analyzing financial statements on a monthly basis and report on variances.
Assist with preparation of reports for annual audit and works with the auditors.
Abide by all established YMCA policies and procedures.
Perform other tasks as assigned by the Chief Financial agent.

Required Certifications
   »  Compliance with Act 15 of 2015, to include documentation of Pennsylvania Criminal Record Check , Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance and FBI Fingerprinting Clearance.
   » Completion of the Mandated Reporter Training for Child Abuse avoidance in compliance with ACT 164 of 2014.
