Cook County Health and Hospitals System (CCHHS) is seeking an Attending Physician 8 for Cermak Health Services of Cook County (Cermak) providing healthcare to detainees at the Cook County Department of Corrections. The Attending Physician 8 will be responsible for providing primary care in 24/7 Cermak Urgent Care. Contributes to quality improvement in initiatives at the facility and participates in the design of Urgent Care protocol and guidelines.

Reporting Relationships
   » Reports to the Chair of the Department of Correctional Health

Minimum Qualifications
   » M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical college or university is required.
   » Licensed as a physician or surgeon in the State of Illinois or eligible to be licensed prior to starting employment.
   » Completed accredited residency program in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Emergency Medicine or eligible to complete such residency prior to start of employment.
   » Board Certified or eligible for certification in either of the following medical specialties: Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Emergency Medicine or is a resident physician
   » Valid Illinois Controlled Substances License (ILCS) or the capability to obtain licensure prior to starting employment.
   » Valid licensure with the Federal DEA or eligible to obtain licensure prior to starting employment.
Preferred Qualifications
   » Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), preferred.
   » Bilingual expertise in Spanish or Polish.
   » Record of scholarly achievement.

Must prosperously meet the credentialing standards established by the Cook County Health and Hospitals System to include a State of Illinois MD license and any other license, certification, or specialized training, etc. no later than two (2) weeks prior to the candidate's start date
