Primary tasks:

Summary of tasks: We are pursuing an effective and professional Finance and Operations Director with cross training in finance, operations, and human resources that thrives in detail oriented, service minded functions, but can also vision and create for future growth. Works in partnership with the Executive Director to provide oversight and direction of the finance and administration functions as well as the operations of the buildings and grounds.  The Finance and Operations Director is a member of the Administrative Team, and directs the Finance Committee, and the Facility Committee of the Board. 


 §  Financial Management:  supervise 2M Annual Operating Budget and 7M in Assets
-          Provides overall direction for all financial management, accounting, and budgeting functions.
-          Manage and maintain financial bookkeeping files with oversight by contract controller/accountant
-          Prepare payroll to submit to ADP
-          Prepare business reports, financial models, functional expense worksheets, grant budgets and reports
-          Ensure adequate cash flow is in place for current and future operations
-          Work with investment firm to monitor investment activity and performance of reserves
-          Assist with annual audit and accounting policy and procedure development and financial controls
-          Prepare Charities Review Renewal (2019)
-          Manage annual renewals: Secretary of State, Attorney General Filings, CCDA, MCN
-          Lead Finance Committee:
o   Support Treasurer and Executive Director in financial matters
o   Make recommendations for audit prep and policy/procedure needs
§  Operations Management:  supervise new 30,000 Square Ft building, Vans, and Grounds
-          Direct and manage the operations team (Building and Grounds Associate, Operations Associate (to be hired), Reception, Housekeeping) to ensure strong facility management including preventative maintenance.
-          Policy and procedure development maximizing efficiency and effectiveness along with minimizing risk
-          Monitor/recommend insurance coverage (licapability, worker’s compensation, auto) and handle all claims
-          Manage service and equipment provider relationships
-          Manage and maintain document storage and retention policy
-          Creation and maintenance of safety manual and training schedule, business continuity plan, and emergency procedure plan.
-          supervise Commercial Kitchen Safe Food Practices
-          Project Management as needed
-          Lead Facility Committee
o   Make recommendations on vendors, building and capital asset improvements
o   Assist with facility leasing opportunities
§  Human Resource Administration: Banyan total staff equals- 17 FT employees and 35 PT employees
-          Develop and support Banyan’s human resources policies and procedures, employment files and employment handbook
-          Manage annual review, administration, and staff enrollments for employee benefit vendors
-          Assist ED with performance evaluation, compensation strategies, and personnel issues
§  leadership abilities
-Assist the Executive Director
o   Provide strategic insight on Banyan finance and operations
o   Assist with prep and minutes at Board of Directors Meetings
-Member of the Administrative Team (ED, Dev. Dir, and Prog. Dir)
o   Provide insight and communication with team around finance and operations
o   Work collaboratively on the strategic plan to further the work of Banyan

Additional Info:

 Appropriate qualifications:
-          Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, business, or related fields. MBA preferred (or 3-5 years direct practice in finance/operations)
-          Five to eight years’ practice (including leadership abilities functions) in non-profit administration, including managing diverse funding streams and an operating budget of at least 2M
-          Intermediate expertise of word processing software, database software, spreadsheet software, accounting software (preferably QuickBooks), internet software, and cloud technology.
-          Valid driver’s License
