PART-TIME POSITION
2018-2019
The Lab School seeks a part-time American Sign Language teacher for the 2018-2019 academic year to teach two introductory courses. The ideal candidate would hold a degree in ASL Education or a related field and have practice working with high school students. Technological expertise, a collaborative nature, and excellent written language and communication expertise are all valued attributes.The candidate must hold a teaching certificate or be certification-eligible through the District of Columbia.

The Lab School values its progressive philosophy of education that for 50 years has guided project-located learning for students with average and above intellectual abilities whose minds need to be nourished while they take the extra time they need to acquire proficient reading and writing expertise. Through exposure to the arts, immersion in experiential learning opportunities, and engagement in hands-on science labs, Lab students discover the joy of learning and have practice in problem solving at an early age. Diversity is celebrated and cultural competency is a primary goal.
