Primary tasks:

This position supports external communications and public relations strategy to include content creation across all printed, electronic, and social media communication platforms. This staff further assists People Serving People's institutional giving portfolio through grant research, solicitation, and reporting. As an active member of the development team, this staff will also assist with events to raise funds and grow consciousness for the organization.Essential Functions of the job:
 
Communications
•       In partnership with Institutional Relations and Communications Manager (manager), manage PeopleServing
People's social media presence on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Vimeo, LinkedIn, and lnstagram.
•                     Develop, write, and publish content across all social media channels ensuring platform content consistency, significantly connecting and engaging with supporters.
•                     Assist Development team in developing social media strategy that integrates with People Serving People's overall communications strategy.
•                      Assist Development department management to identify and monitor metrics and goals for website and social media.
•                      Recommend strategies for increased use of social media management platforms (i.e. Hootsuite) to improve efficiencies around tracking and channel maintenance.
•                      Actively monitor use of all People Serving People social media channels to ensureconsistency with organization's social media guidelines.
•                     Support continuing development of annual communications calendar.
•                     Contributes to building a positive team spirit; Shares skills with others.

practice:

Coursework in English, journalism, social media, public relations, or communications is preferred.Two years of practice doing a variety of the essential job functions is required; practice may be acquired through paid employment or volunteer or internship positions. Overtime may be required on occasion.
