UH Hilo, College of Arts and Sciences, full-time, general funds, tenure-track, nine-month type appointment, to begin August 2018, pending position clearance and availcapability of funding.

tasks: Teach graduate and undergraduate anthropology courses with a specialty in museum studies with an emphasis on community-located collections management and material conservation; develop an active program of research that would incorporate the management of collections in the department of anthropology at UH Hilo; provide service to the department including advising students and mentoring student clubs; and contribute to program development, including close collaboration with the North Hawai`i Education and Research Center's (NHERC) Heritage Center and 'Imiloa Astronomy Center.

Minimum Appropriate qualifications: PhD at the time of application from an accredited college or university in Anthropology or a related field with a primary focus on museum studies. Demonstrated skills in developing and managing collections in indigenous and multicultural communities. Evidence of good teachings skills.
Desirable Qualification: Evidence of prosperous college level teaching in a multicultural environment. Qualitative and quantitative skills; commitment to a program in empirical research and education; skills complementing those of existing faculty for contributing to a Heritage Management MA degree program focused on the Pacific Islands; and capability to contribute to the Pacific Islands Studies Certificate Program.
