Job description

The Communications Manager will be ?responsible for planning, directing, and managing messaging, traditional and social media content directed at NAP's members, partners and funders, as well as public audiences. this function will also be responsible for drafting language that best supports NAP's objectives and goals, to be used online, as well as in physical communications materials. He/ She will monitor and work with external consultants and networks to develop and produce high quality content as a team. The Communications Manager will also work closely with NAP's CEO, Program Director and team to promote the organization's purpose and vision in the most creative, positive, and impactful way. The Communications Manager will report directly to the CEO. NAP operates with the core belief that Native practices, cultures, traditions and worldview are critical drivers for social change, and we expect our programs and process to embody this belief.

Qualifications or requirements

*Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent practice.
*At least 5 years of overall professional practice in a related field with a minimum of 3 years of practice in communications.
*Exceptional written and verbal communications expertise, including the capability to tailor complex materials and messages into an understandable and compelling language for a variety of audiences.
*Proven capability to manage public relations and high stakes communications.
*capability to manage social media and communication teams.
*capability to facilitate creative discussions and meetings, and track project progress.
*Effective working in a rapidly changing environment with competing priorities.
*Excellent organizational, project management, and campaign coordination expertise.
*Comfortable and poised working with consultants, partners, and executive teams.
*High degree of professionalism and integrity.
*High-energy and results-oriented.
*Consummate team player and collaborator.
*Ambitious, creative, hard-working, and determined.
*capability to travel nationally for conferences, meetings, and campaign events.
