Position Summary

This position is responsible for the development, implementation and management of the process by which Rockwell Automation will drive, capture, track, and forecast 'supplier change' generated material productivity improvements. This position requires a close working relationship and collaboration within the Sourcing and Continuation Engineering functions in order to drive the success of this program.
This is a cross-functional leadership abilities function with responsibility for project management and accountcapability for strategy, results and metrics. This individual must have the capability to sell ideas and concepts as well as persuade the business units to drive execution. They must also be able to work independently within a matrix environment.

Major responsibilities
Responsible for the management of the Sourcing Change Productivity organization. Responsible for management of Rockwell Automation's Sourcing Change Productivity Program. Responsible for driving supplier generated material cost savings with the business units.

Key responsibilities
   » Develop and lead implementation of the Change Productivity strategy incorporating Supply Chain, OES and Business Unit Engineering priorities to drive the next level of productivity.
   » Lead and manage the cross-functional project team in charge of implementing the change-generated material productivity initiative.
   » Drive the prosperous implementation of the Change Productivity Program within all commodity areas.
   » Communicate critical project status and actively promote business unit engagement in Change Productivity execution.
   » Provide monthly reports and presentations to senior management on project progress, savings capture, and the idea pipeline.
   » Expand skills by benchmarking other company's similar material productivity programs.
   » Reduce product risk through proper sourcing strategy execution. Drive use of 'Preferred' suppliers. Provide Continuation Engineering teams with supply chain risk consultation which include obsolescence, delivery, currency, logistics, political and other risks.
   » Drive Change Productivity process improvements through the elimination of variation and waste, focusing on continuous process improvement.
   » Interface and build strong working relationships with Continuation Engineering, Finance, Sourcing, Component Engineering, Business Unit Management, Development Engineering, Supplier Quality, Materials Planning, Operations Management and the Lean Six Sigma (LSS) organization.
   » Attract, develop and retain the Sourcing Change Productivity talent base
   » Facilitate a culture in which everyone can do their best work through inclusion, engagement and retention.
   » Ensure thorough familiarity with policies and procedures relating to Sourcing and standards of business conduct.
   » Comply with all Rockwell Automation policies and procedures.
   » Perform other tasks as assigned.EOE, M/F/Disable, Vet

Minimum Qualifications

Education and practice Requirements
   » Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent technical discipline.
   » Minimum five years supply chain, sourcing, project management or operations management practice.
   » Broad knowledge of direct commodities (and some indirect material and services) is required.
   » Excellent knowledge in data architecture and management; back office applications like MS Office (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.), and project management tools
Desired Qualifications
   » Project Management (PMP) certification preferred.
   » SAP practice desired.
   » Six Sigma Green Belt certification desired.
   » Advanced formal degree desired.
Success Criteria
   » Consistent Rockwell Automation-wide process followed for all commodities
   » Program in place and executed for all aspects of initial project plan, business unit resource commitments, and project execution through savings collection.
   » Implemented process for working with Continuation Engineering group and business units on resource requests for projects
   » Tracking database at the individual project level for target commodities developed and maintained
   » Process is in place to measure overall performance for the initiative along with future expectations for year-over-year savings
   » Annual material Change Productivity savings goals exceeded

   » capability to effectively influence key stakeholders without a direct reporting relationship.
   » Strong team leader and project manager, comfortable in leading cross functional and multi-cultural teams.
   » Demonstrated capability to make difficult decisions and drive execution of correct supply chain solutions in the face of opposition.
   » Exceptional problem solving and project management skills.
   » Excellent presentation and communication skills (written and verbal) to various levels of the organization.
   » Proficient in dealing across different cultures.
   » capability to influence and effectively negotiate with suppliers and with various organizational levels within Rockwell Automation.
   » Advanced knowledge and use of data management applications (i.e. MS Office)
This position may require up to 20% travel to Rockwell Automation and supplier locations (US and int'l).
