The position:

Lead, inspire and continue to build GMu2019s team of talented and engaged Software professionals to develop, document, and support our next generation infotainment products and tools while meeting cost, schedule, and technical requirements, as well as department, and company goals in a dynamic, rapid changing environment.

The primary job responsibilities include:
   » Manage and refine a SW development process capable of supporting multiple development locations and both internal and external resources
   » Ensure accurate and current cost plans, schedules, and development plans are established, updated, and maintained for department work and operations.
   » Anticipate technical, schedule and cost risks then implement mitigation actions to minimize impact.
   » Hire, develop, and retain a competent and engaged Software Engineering staff within allocated budgets.
   » Develop employee tailored work assignments that are challenging and result in on-time completion of team deliverables.
   » Mentoring and developing software engineering staff to meet personal, professional, and corporate objectives.
   » Collaborate and direct third party software designs and development work to align with overall project objectives and timing
   » Foster and maintain a positive and collaborative work environment to motivate staff while driving process improvement and innovative solutions.
   » Identifying and removing obstacles that prevent staff from accomplishing goals.
   » Ensuring staff has the proper equipment, tools, training, and resources to accomplish assigned tasks within defined processes and procedures, while adhering to appropriate budgets.
   » knowledge department capacity and capabilities, develop metrics and reporting mechanisms to manage organizational performance;
   » Identify longer term staffing/technical skill needs and work collaboratively with leadership abilities to plan staffing levels in line with needs.
   » Ensure efforts undertaken in Software Engineering are necessary and sufficient to meet the connected objectives.
   » The prosperous candidate will be a person that has demonstrated large systems integration practice to support and can roll up their sleeves and do the work themselves if necessary

Required Appropriate qualifications:
   » Bacheloru2019s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Software Engineering.
   » Minimum fifteen years practice in an automotive or consumer electronics embedded product development organization that includes:
   » At least 7 years of practice developing or leading development of complex, real time, embedded software in an object oriented environment.
   » At least 5 years of practice prosperously managing a software engineering development organization.
   » At least 3 years of practice leading an Agile development team.
   » Significant practice in all aspects of the software development process, from up front systems design practice to backend integration.
   » Proven leadership abilities expertise.
   » Outstanding written and oral communications expertise.
   » Possesses key leadership abilities traits: collaborative work style, integrity, creativity, objectivity, assertiveness, effectiveness, responsibility, honesty, relicapability, strong business acumen.
   » capability to adapt to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
   » capability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
   » Development practice on multi-disciplinary teams in the infotainment, consumer electronics, or related software industries.
   » A passion for innovation and raising the bar in teams, technology, and projects.
   » An analytical mind that thrives in a data-driven environment.
   » practice leading agile development teams and organizations.
   » Software development practice
   » Operating systems practice with one or more of the following: QNX, Linux, Android.
   » Solid working knowledge of current infotainment technologies, including Bluetooth, Voice Recognition, Wi-Fi, Navigation and HMI frameworks.
   » Demonstrated knowledge of a wide variety of software technologies, including rendering, simulation, relational database, web, mobile, and user interface development.
Preferred Appropriate qualifications:
   » Advanced degree in engineering, business or management/leadership abilities preferred.
   » Demonstrated knowledge of a wide variety of software technologies, including rendering, simulation, relational database, web, mobile, and user interface development.
