About the Global Portfolio Management Office team:









The Global PortfolioManagement Office (GPMO) team is a function within the Office of the CIO. The team is responsible for defining anddriving the processes and practices to plan and manage the execution of theportfolio of Information technology projects in which GM has invested resources and dollars. This is a critical function to ensure that thecompanyu2019s substantial investment in the Information technology function delivers the expectedreturn. TheGPMO team directly supports the Office of the CIO and works with the extendedIT planning network across the entire Information technology organization to support the ITleadership abilities team.



About the function:



The GPMO Information technology Portfolio Analyst is responsible for enabling implementation of best in class portfolio management capabilities for the GM Information Technology (GM IT) function.

Requirements:

       »
  • Solid leadership abilities,relationship management and negotiation capabilities including:

    •    »
    • Strongwritten and verbal communication expertise

    • Exhibitedproficiency in self-management expertise

    •    »
    • Demonstratedtrack record of influencing up and across to medium or small projects,preferably in a matrix environment

  • Excellent data andprocess analysis expertise including:

Appropriate qualifications:


       »
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word; and proficiency with analysis/reporting tools

       »
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and at least 5 years of practice in the Information technology function




OR




       »
  • At least 10 years of practice in the Information Technology function or another horizontal business function (e.g., Finance)


Preferred Appropriate qualifications:


       »
  • An knowledge ofthe mechanics, principles and intent of AdvancedPortfolio Management Concepts (i.e., portfolio characteristics, timemanagement, resource management, reporting, resource planning, analytics,prioritization, trade-offs)

       »
  • Solid knowledge ofproject management fundamentals and software development lifecycles. practice developing applications desiredbut not required

       »
  • 3+ years of hands onpractice as a program or project manager

       »
  • practice definingand refining metrics (both lagging and leading KPIs)
