Strength and Conditioning Coach
Job Purpose
Towson University's Department of Athletics is accepting applications for a Strength and Conditioning Coach. Under the Supervision of the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach, the Strength and Conditioning Coach will serve as an integral member of the Athletic Department's multidisciplinary Performance Team and will directly communicate and collaborate with head coaches, adjunct strength and conditioning coaches, team physicians, athletic trainers, dietitians, sport psychologists and other exercise science and allied health personnel to deliver comprehensive, practical and evidence located performance optimization strategies that foster an environment for injury avoidance, performance enhancement, recovery, and reconditioning.

The Strength and Conditioning Coach will design and implement comprehensive year-round programming (movement assessments, speed, strength and conditioning) for the athletic development and enhancement of student-athletes; maintain accurate and timely electronic records for monitoring prescribed and completed program variables.

In coordination with the adjunct Athletic Director of Sports Performance and Analytics and Head Strength and Conditioning Coach, the Strength and Conditioning Coach will lead the development and implementation of comprehensive injury avoidance, performance enhancement, and functional performance screening and testing. Utilize performance monitoring technology (e.g., heart rate monitoring, GPS, sleep monitoring, velocity-located training modalities, etc.) as a tool to better plan and adjust training plans, continuously seek continuing education opportunities and explore current tools and techniques. Utilize evolving advances in technology to benefit and enhance each sport's training philosophy and serve the sport coach by providing specific and tangible information regarding their athletes' physical status and abilities.
Communicate, collaborate and interact with coaches, athletic trainers, administrative staff, and Towson Research Academy of Collaborative Sport Science to apply evidence-located practice for strength and conditioning. Monitor the condition of equipment and request repairs or replacement as necessary. Cooperate with all coaches and administrative staff within the intercollegiate athletics programs to enhance overall departmental operations. Understand and comply with all department policies and procedures, as well as NCAA and Colonial Athletic Association rules and regulations.
tasks include but are not limited to leading, evaluating and supervising the everyday operations of the strength and conditioning program; facilitate comprehensive movement assessments, supervision, design and implementation of periodized strength and conditioning programs that reduce injury, enhance performance, ensure safe equipment usage. Emphasis will be placed on implementation, supervision and teaching progressions for: resistance training, cardiovascular, speed, plyometric, flexibility and functional movement; as well as maintain accurate electronic records for each team and student-athlete to monitor progress. Performs other tasks at the discretion of the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach as assigned.
Bachelor's Degree and 4 years' practice working at collegiate level. Must hold current certification from any of the following organizations, NSCA, CSCC, USA Weight Lifting. First Aid/CPR/AED certification required. Demonstrated practice and strong expertise base in performance and injury avoidance program development of the collegiate athletics population. Strong verbal and written communication expertise. Commitment to student-athlete well-being, health & safety in a competitive environment. capability to collaborate in developing a holistic sports performance model.

Master's Degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Sport Science, Nutrition or related fields preferred. practice at the NCAA Division I collegiate or professional sports working with Football also preferred.
