Do you have the drive to help feed the world by teaching emerging on-farm research discovery and agricultural science to top crop producers and agribusiness professionals? Can you be a strong regional leader and develop focused, comprehensive educational programs in Irrigated and Rainfed Cropping Systems? We have an excellent opportunity for a full-time faculty position located in Clay Center, Nebraska that serves Clay, Nuckolls, Thayer and Fillmore counties. As a member of the Nebraska Extension team you will collaborate with research and extension faculty who are leaders in their field. You will work with high performing teams to create and deliver world class, innovative learning practices that empower Nebraskans to improve their lives around critical issues. Required Appropriate qualifications: •Master's degree with one degree in Agronomy, Weed Science, Crop Science, Soil Science, Biological Systems Engineering, Doctor of Plant Health, Mechanized Agriculture Systems or other closely related field required. Master's degree must be completed by start date. •prosperous practice teaching in a formal or non-formal setting. •Demonstrated capability to communicate (i.e. publications, web media, presentations). •Minimum of 2 years practice with agricultural production similar to Nebraska systems.
Preferred Appropriate qualifications: •practice in working with individuals, coworkers, and teams to accomplish individual and/or group goals, as evidenced by college, career, and/or community activities. •Outstanding leadership abilities expertise as demonstrated by functions in college, career, and/or community activities. •capability to utilize electronic and online technologies for educational program delivery. •knowledge of different ethnic and socioeconomic audiences and a commitment to developing and delivering both inclusive and targeted programming. •prosperous practice in developing financial support for educational programs including grant writing, fund generation, contracting and/or cost recovery efforts. •Demonstrated capability to effectively manage multiple priorities and programs. •prosperous practice in teaching Cropping Systems education in a formal or informal setting, practice teaching crop producers or their advisors, and a demonstrated capability to network with agricultural industry or public agencies.
